Awww, lovely, funny man. Thanks for the entertainment, Bernard
Yes a find actor and though not a comedian ( don’t think) a very funny man
Very sad, another Fawlty Towers legend gone.
Oh for me he will always be the Wombles and Dr Who's sidekick.

RIP
Loved it when he beat up Basil in Fawlty towers...

A lovely man who played Albert Perks, the Porter, in The Railway Children. A great narrator on radio, the singer of Right Said Fred. He lost his wife of 66 years in 2021.
Absolutely Choux always came across as a complete gentleman
// the singer of Right Said Fred //

I don’t remember him going bald.
He was hilarious on Have I Got News For You, one of my favourite episodes.
Great raconteur, fabulous on Jackanory.
He was in Corrie, too, and bedded Tracy Barlow.
...It's not there now, the ground's all flat and beneath it is the bloke in the bowler hat.
And that's that".

Funny and prescient, quite the combo. Too few replacements available though.
Another national treasure gone..
RIP, Bernard.
Always came across as an all-round good guy.

RIP
R.I.P.
@ Douglas
" Hole in the ground "
My favourite
RIP Bernard
A wonderfully talented and funny actor
' so Charlie and me had another cup of tea and then we went home '
Sad news indeed, he was a fine, funny actor who always seemed a gentleman. RIP Bernard.

Suppose they'll be digging a hole for him.
Oh, that makes me sad. Hope that he and Barry Cryer will be meeting up again. You can find old footage of them working together at Leeds City Varieties.
I'm almost word perfect on 'Right said Fred' and 'Hole in the Ground'.
I think it was only last year that he reprised his role in The Railway Children, in a R4 play, as a just retiring Station master visited by the grown-up Roberta who was trying to settle a refugee child.
He will be sadly missed. R.I. P.
