*wielding.

Someone mentioned literacy the other day, just wanted to make sure standards are maintained.
What a creature he is.
At least we have something to thank Corbyn for - his abject failure to lead Labour to a GE victory meant McD never got his grubby mitts on the Treasury.

Yes I am very grateful to Corbynski. Well I did help elect him as leader of the labour Party for £3!
I always like John MacDonnell and would of liked to see him have a go... I wasn't convinced by Jeremy Corbyn though, I much prefer Kier but maybe his not winning the public over so Andy Burnham would be good.. Is Alastair Darling or Ed Balls out of politics now... I liked them and they were still fairly young
//Andy Burnham would be good//

He needs to stand for election first ... and that's a long way off.

Probably best to ease off on the Russian metaphors and references for a while in light of the amount of roubles that have winged their way into Tory coffers, not to mention certain governmental connections with wealthy former Soviet citizens and their offspring.

Possibly parachute him into Tamworth shortly?
What’s happening there now he’s sitting as an independent?
Have they(the party) got to wait for him to finish treatment before completing their inquiry?
Burnham would need a safer seat to win than Tamworth where Pincher has a nearly 10,000 majority. That’s one for the LibDems.
// Burnham would need a safer seat to win than Tamworth //

not if he's the right candidate. Brian Jenkins became MP for SE Staffs (as it was then) on the death of the sitting tory mp in 1996. he held the seat with a 10,000 majority when labour took power in 1997.
// The sitting MP in Uxbridge and South Ruislip, John Randall was persuaded to step down at the GE for Johnson. He was duly rewarded with a peerage in 2018, and a Government advisor job in the meantime.
Labour should pension off Stringer and do the same. //
Yet another own goal from the Left. Idiots.
Yet another own goal from a politician. All parties seem to be doing it.

What a shower we have as 'leaders'
Never fail to be astonished how a nation of 300 million ends up with a choice between Trump and Biden and how we in the UK end up with a choice between Starmer and Truss. Where are the smart, inspirational leaders?
The Tories had a good one in Tugendhat, I guess in tandem with having no baggage or questionable past he was just too honest, dependable and honourable for leadership of that party.
Their loss.
Question Author
I would have been happy with Tugendhat or Mordaunt. I'm not happy with either of the finalists but we are going to end up with one of them so I prefer Truss but really it's the lesser of two weevils.
