GP average salary in United Kingdom 2022 is £72,000 with some only working 2 days a week.

There are approximately 700,000 people born in Poland alone resident in the UK and many, many, others from EU counties & Lord knows how many immigrants from beyond, all of whom have never contributed a penny to the NHS but have full access to healthcare whatever the cost.

How can this work ?
I voted remain, Gulli.
KHANDRO, "There are approximately 700,000 people born in Poland alone resident in the UK and many, many, others from EU counties & Lord knows how many immigrants from beyond, all of whom have never contributed a penny to the NHS but have full access to healthcare whatever the cost."

Are you claiming that every single person from those groups you mention has never worked, never paid tax and NI?

Really?
No one forced out EU NHS staff, they chose to run. They didn't have to could have carried on as usual but it was their decision to go.
Khandro,
//There are approximately 700,000 people born in Poland alone resident in the UK and many, many, others from EU counties & Lord knows how many immigrants from beyond, all of whom have never contributed a penny to the NHS but have full access to healthcare whatever the cost.

How can this work ?//

If there was a loophole (which I doubt) one might wonder why 12 years of Tory government hasn’t closed it, wouldn’t one?
As pointed out if they live and work here they pay their taxes like everyone else, hence their entitlement.
To say all migrants who come here work and and paying taxes so they are entitled to use rhe NHS is misleading. The vast majority will be on minimum wage so will be paying no tax, add to that they will be claiming child benefits etc so they will be net takers, not net tax payers.
Corby //Are you claiming that every single person from those groups you mention has never worked, never paid tax and NI?//

If they have been in the UK & are working (not all of them are) for say 3 years, they will have paid only 3 years of N.I. contributions & taxes, but have the same entitlement as a person who has paid in for 50 years.

As I say, how can that work ?
Incomers are mainly young & pretty healthy so I don't see them as a substantial drain on the NHS. There is obviously something wrong with the current "model" & I wonder what a private health care system could achieve with the money currently being used to fund the NHS.

i.e. In comparable countries with better outcomes how much goes into providing healthcare per citizen.
Profiteering Government wanting to sell it off.
Well a 20 year old UK worker who needs treatment will have paid little into the system. We have all paid different varying contributions in. But that doesn’t mean we should get different or no treatment.
