my grandson is at reading festival and out of 9 tents he and friends took only one wasn't trashed ,camping chairs and other stuff trashed but thank goodness they are all fine x
I'm relieved for you both, Bobbi and Mally. I've never ever desired to go to these Festivals. When is drug culture going to end? It's such a mugs game.
"Its only scary if you think your grandson does drugs"
Rubbish - unless you only drink from a sealed bottle you opened yourself and eat food which you brought with you and have supervised 24/7, you are at risk.
It may be a small risk (although higher for young women), but it's still there and worrying for parents.
[ I speak as someone who wound up in A&E after eating an omelette which some comedian had spiked with magic mushrooms ]
I wasn’t aware that whole families go these things, even those with baby’s , I was having this discussion with my daughter, why would anyone take small children to what appears a free drug fest at times.?
My hippy friends now in their 60s took their children to festivals for years from a very young age. The whole family still go yearly to Glastonbury. Considering how many people go there are very few problems. Personally I wouldn't go because of the awful loos. My son went regularly from 16 until he met his wife to be, who hated camping and festival loos.
My niece (17), is on her way back from Leeds Festival. She and her friends tried to stay awake all last night as people were setting fire to the tents!!!!!!
Just found out from her sister, that it is a regular thing (burning tents). They do check that the tents are empty, so I guess that's alright then, (not).
grandson (just 18) now home, of all the stuff he took to camp he only came back with rubber mallet and sleeping bag ,he said people were just going mad burning things, throwing things, breaking things .
