And the Chief Clown says."
"I am like one of those Booster Rockets that has fulfilled its function, and I will now be gently re-entering the atmosphere and splashing down invisibly in some remote and obscure corner of the Pacific." Boris Johnson

When are you going to get a life, Gulliver?
Sounds like a very accurate analogy, he did boost us through the big ticket items. Thanks for highlighting the achievements of the PM.
He compared himself to Cincinnatus returning to his plough.

Cincinnatus was a Roman military leader who came out of retirement for a second term as dictator of Rome.
I am sure this has already been picked up on :-)
ich, Boris would have chosen Cincinnatus for a reason.
Gully will be pleased now you have explained that Ich :-)

11.00 LCG Probably , when you do .....LOL.
He is more like Engine No.3 on Artemis. A dud.

Never knew the Pacific had corners ,,
Boris must have put them there. WPMSLAD.
Gully has problems with metaphors. ;o)
How long was Cincinnatus away for? Boris has got 7 years minimum.
naomi: "Gully has problems with metaphors. ;o) " - if only that was the extent of his problems.
Well Boris is eligible to run for POTUS maybe he'll hop over the pond.
Cincinnatus's second coming may never have happened, but that wouldn't bother an imaginative historian like Boris.
Boris will do exactly what he said he'll do. He's splash down invisibly in a remote corner ... for a while at least. For Pacific read Commons. Hang on to your hat, gully!
// Cincinnatus was an opponent of the rights of the plebeians (the common citizens) who fell into poverty because of his son Caeso Quinctius's violent opposition to their desire for a written code of equally enforced laws. //

Sound familiar?
Question Author
TTT . The Americans don't want him ,, Thats why they sent the pillock to live in the UK.
I wouldn't mind seeing him as Potus Tora. He'd most likely run as a Democrat.
splishing and splashing down in the Pacific - silently as well for gods sake, for once
are we really having a
cincinnatus who he den? spat - long predicted by a certain PP

er sozza,
Cincinnatus qui est - - actually I think ( puto) Cincinnatus ( its a foo-foo, word from an attribute, belted, as he always wore a belt - sine qua non for ploughing at that time) puto
cincinnatus quid agit populo romano ( c who he den, still)
//Sound familiar?//

Not at all, Gromit. Had Coronavirus befallen his society, I wonder what Cincinnatus would have thought about, say, subsidising workers' wages, or protecting the health of the population by ploughing millions into research and subsequently offering free vaccinations - or protecting the livelihood of small business owners by subsiding their income? Have you forgotten?
