Tbf she’s not even had a proper shot at it yet but the public perception will need to be worked on I guess? Or do they look at the cabinet and think ‘same old, same old?’

From the link.

New polling shows that Liz Truss is starting on the back foot with the public compared to Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer.
A survey was carried out by YouGov on Ms Truss's first two days in office, asking close to 1,700 people about their thoughts.
Some 44% said they would vote for Labour if an election were called right now, and 29% said Tory.
Asked about who would make the best prime minister, 25% said Ms Truss, and 32% said Sir Keir.
Boris Johnson's last score was 28%.

Is anyone expecting her to turn things around and mpressviters with her actions and achievements after just a couple of days. That's daft. She's never impressed me much but lets wish her well in getting to grips... and giving Labour a good foundation from 2024
she's hardly started yet. Without being disrespectful to anyone, if a royal funeral is near, this will give her a boost as she'll be representing the country at the passing of the last monarch most people can remember. She'll need to watch her step and treat French visitors as friends not foes etc. But it could be themaking of her, at least until winter closes round her domestic policies.

Starmer made a very good point though.
Staggering if true!
He sounded quite confident, Kwarteng look bewildered.

Sounds like even the boss of BP is embarrassed at not being called upon by the government to help out?
Whatever Ms Truss did Fatticus, it seems to me it would never be right for you.
Good grief! She’s only been in the job for a day and a bit. It didn’t take you long.
I suspect she will earn respect slowly.

She might well be do a John Major, and win the next general election.
a splendid omen, Hopkirk...
I can't see how she can turn things round. The proposed measures are just extending the clock on a ticking time bomb.
Blame Putin for that
all PMs face crises, that's when you find out if they're any good at the job.

Have a read of the OP again, especially the first line.
Then you can stop acting the victim on her behalf, the ‘woe are us’ semantics and dam the crocodile tears for a little while yet.
I’m giving her more leeway than you already have on other threads!

That’s pretty much the expectation, even from her own.

She’s gonna need to be a Thatcher x 5 from week 1 it seems.

These measures might show compassion and understanding, but they don't show knowledge of the difficulties for families. Politicians haven't got a clue about life for ordinary folk.
very true, Clarion. The last time Truss was at my door she said she hoped my wheat harvest was coming on well. I didn't have the heart to tell her I only grow moss.

She’d have shown more compassion and understanding if she’d passed the bill onto BP etc in light of their CEO’s comments and the Treasury forecast of £170 billion in profits over the next 2 years.
Sounds like a massive vote-loser to me?
The first world leader she spoke to was Zelensky.
So that’s a good start AFAIC :-)

Few PMs can have had such a dramatic start to their term.
She's been in the job for a day and a half for goodness sake.
To be fair to anyone who won the race to become PM – they only have a choice from around 360 useless people to fill their cabinet posts.
Fatticusinch, 15.34 Thursday. Wow! You’ve certainly allowed your imagination free rein there! Do get a grip, there’s a good chap.
The starting gate just opened, but the finish line is still a gallop away.
