Compared to many people in the world, we are all billionaires. Nothing wrong with being a billionaire, it's what you do with it that counts.

i am not in general a fan of trusting this planet's future to the whims of a tiny minority who control vast proportions of its wealth... so from that perspective you could see it as bad news... but hey it is better than them hoarding it or funding denial campaigns like exxon did

i do actually think there is something inherently wrong with being a billionaire... it is a frankly awful sum of money and it is virtually impossible to own that amount without having power and status over the people around you

there is a huge gulf of difference between a millionaire and a billionaire… i do doubt that “many” billionaires are philanthropists on the level of the patagonia founder… there’s only about 3,000 of them in the world anyway
