Harry is attempting to remove some of the content of his ghost-written memoir due to be published later this year because it may be regarded as 'insensitive'. However, since the manuscript has already been signed off he may be too late.

According to The Telegraph, the Duke of Sussex ‘fears being vilified’ in the wake of the Queen’s death.

fewer people queued than did so for her father, or for Churchill. But I've been looking at old press reports, and it seems in 1952 they were queuing for about four hours, and for only two miles.

I wonder what made this year's queues so comparatively long and slow? (It doesn't appear that any earlier ones were invited to sprint.) Do any older ABers remember how it was managed?

I think Harry's concern is admirable, it shows how sensitive he is to other folk's feelings, and he realised that the book coming out while HM was alive would be extremely upsetting coming out shortly after her death.

This merely shows the same respect as shops closing etc.

It also shows a more commendable moral standing than sleeping with one's mistress on the eve of one's first wedding.

This just shows how really blinkered he is and how much he has been drawn in by that wife of his ! I really think he believes that people will take his side over our Monarchy - just amazing really ! The Queen was a much loved figurehead and deserved all the accolades and love she got from the people when she passed and if he was shocked by that then he really is a prize chump. Like some have said on here, we won't have to buy the book, the daily's will print all the more 'interesting' bits anyway- that's a given. How wonderful it would be if the publication or parts of it, got rid of them forever and they lived the 'quiet, private' life they have always craved and stayed away from these shores - I'm not holding my breath though ...

Instead of all this spewing of venom against his family, Harry could have sent his wife out to work. I'm sure as a Duchess her price tag as an actress would have increased - especially if she played herself in The Crown.

bednobs, they originally claimed (at the time of the marriage) she'd be Princess Consort when Charles became king but they dropped the claim after a few years. The queen said earlier this year that she'd become Queen Consort. I very much doubt that this was news to Harry.

There are a surprising number of people who treat the Royal Family like Coronation Street but with orbs and sceptres.

They need heroes and villains for the ongoing storyline and lap up anything the papers throw out. I'm no fan of Harry, Meghan, William, Kate or whoever - but I recognise that what we read in the papers is largely cobblers guaranteed to generate clicks from the credulous.
