I did not think it possible for the UK to have a worse Prime Minister than Boris Johnson; and I think that should Labour win the next general election, they will be just as incompetent as the current Tory government.

Liz Truss appears to be proving me wrong on both of the above counts.

How is Liz Truss proving you wrong in your thinking that a Labour Govt would be just as incompetent as the current Tory government?
Labour won't win the next election and neither will the Tories. It'll be a hung parliament. Labour will win back most, if not all, of the red wall seats, but they need Scotland, and that aint gonna happen any time soon. I know, I keep saying it, but that's the reality.

Have you not seen Truss appearing on the many TV & radio stations recently?
You 5C types have all been moaning about the 45p tax bracket. You've got your own way, you should be happy. Gawd you don't half whine.
I have, Hymie, and I’m not impressed. That doesn’t mean you were wrong in your thinking that a Labour Govt would be just as bad.

Ardent Tory Gove, call the Truss Government ‘Isn’t Tory’.

She has lost control already. Her party has revolted on her. Whichever way you look at it, it is a shambles.
Should have kept Boris then!
All this morning’s newspaper headlines are bad for the Government, even loyal Conservative papers.

It seems the press have made a judgement.
Just vote the Tories Out at the next G/E .
Just as most of the Uk , have already decided.
TORATORATORA, the right decision has been made but it hardly puts the PM and Chancellor in a good light, especially when they are both passing the buck.
Ask the party if they prefer a lazy, lying, handout addicted buffoon to an inept, over-promoted idiot with no clue about life.

The answer may come back "There are many more options available, stop treating government like a TV game show".
Reminiscent of Wilson/Callaghan era.

Two terrible Governments with poor leadership. Economic collapse and strikes. The country were fed up with them and voted against them at the General Election in 1979. And Labour didn’t win again for 18 years.
Worrying times for Conservatives.
gromit: "And Labour didn’t win again for 18 years. " - real Labour didn't win again, full stop.
Well, according to Gove et al, this isn’t real Conservatism - so 18 years might be being optimistic :-)

none of the parties seem to connect the dots, perhps we need a new party with connected thinking planning etc, labour have to many fringe radical elements and islington elites, example when the conservatives want to change a law on deportation it gets vetoed by labour, it's like they may agree but so no anyway to rub up the tories
echr needs ditching and other treaties rewritten for the 21 century.
Voted for the wrong candidate .
yes - about time we had some consensus politics instead of the decades of tweedle dum tweedle dee!

I don't think they give a rat's bottom as long as they are earning.
You just can't truss politicians to do a competent job can you

Oliver Cromwell has a lot to answer for
party members elected Truss.

Party MPs think they foisted someone on them who's going to lose them all their jobs and lose the government its grip on power.

It was MPs rather than party members who chased Boris away and they could maybe do the same to Truss. But it will make the party as a whole look a shambles.
I’ve said it afore the sooner we have taxi drivers running the show the better
