How have the Met, perhaps so many officers of the Met, got away with their abusive behaviour for so long?

They obviously didn't listen in the CRT classes, etc. which they were forced to attend and we were forced to pay for.
If they had they'd know that they are the problem.

It's a pity the site doesn't allow you to give yourself the Best Answer because your post at 12.17 sums it up perfectly.
No it doesnt SP.

You and others on here might want to defund the Police and all that but I dont.

There are a few bad apples, there always will be in all walks of life to target all of them in that manner is very naïve - unless you have an agenda.
And by the recording of a non crime hate crime this would mean it would show up on searches done for many jobs.

Totally wrong.

However Suella is now addressing this. Ultra liberal High ranking coppers had better watch out, if they thought Priti was bad then they will get a real shock with this tough cookie.

"You and others on here might want to defund the Police and all that but I don't."

News to me!

Personally I'd be amazed if you could find any thread where I've supported the defunding of the police. I think it's a mental position to take.

You go on to say:

"There are a few bad apples, there always will be in all walks of life to target all of them in that manner is very naïve - unless you have an agenda."

I disagree - we should absolutely target the few bad apples. Why should they remain and spoil the reputation of the colleagues?

The agenda is one that I believe we should all share - and that's to ensure that as far as possible, we don't allow the police force of tomorrow to look anything like the force of the past.

I didnt say that did I?
//, we don't allow the police force of tomorrow to look anything like the force of the past.//

Absolutely disagree, we need a Police force looking like we had years ago where they were recognised as upholding the law.

///Ultra liberal High ranking coppers had better watch out///

are they the problem? I thought it was the racists and the ones who take selfies of themselves with dead girls.
//are they the problem? //

Yes, lead from the front, root out and deal with the bad apples and start investigating low level crimes instead of Tik tok, dancing and kneeling.
it's the likes of Cressida Dick who let the rot set in, and she was no ultra-liberal. You're looking in the wrong place.

My point is that it's perfectly fine to target all the bad apples.

Do you think this story is an indication that ALL police should be targeted?

Do you still think that I (and 'others') want to defund the police?

Why?
hey where's my BA gone?
I'd have to agree with YMB. I think most people would like to see a return to the policing of yesteryear. Despite the odd personal run-in.
come on ED, surely my quip isn't out of order?

"we need a Police force looking like we had years ago"

But without the corruption and racism right? Without the cover ups and stuff.

Not like any of these:

it was the government who defunded the police, wasn't it? 20,000 cops down? And lo and behold with fewer cops there was more crime. Who could have foreseen that.
Haven't checked your link, sp. But at least the things they did wrong in the past were illegal. They faced prosecution and imprisonment if caught.
Oh, and Cressida was Common Purpose. Not exactly the Masons.
try reading it, spicerack

///Just this week, in fact, it emerged that the Met suspended 73 coppers, community support officers and other staff on corruption charges in the past two years. They cited drug crimes, bribery, theft, fraud, sexual misconduct and — everybody’s favourite — un-authorised disclosure of information. Eleven were convicted in court, but what happened to the others? The Met spokesman said rather blandly that some were allowed to resign or retire (presumably with full pension rights) and some were dismissed.///
