....Apparently all Scots are encouraged to get a "Booster" Jag. Not familiar with the model myself but I do encourage Jag ownership.

Ok, well so you know what the word means and to spare you the effort of bothering to look it up, here is the entry from Chambers

jag1 /jag/
noun
A notch, slash or dag in a garment, etc
A ragged protrusion
A cleft or division (botany)
A prick (Scot)
An inoculation, injection (chiefly Scot informal)

transitive verb (jaggˈing; jagged /jagd/)
To cut unevenly or into notches
To prick or pierce

Now the entry for jab

jab /jab/
transitive verb and intransitive verb
To poke, stab
To strike with a short straight punch
noun
A sudden thrust or stab
A short straight punch
An injection (informal)
ORIGIN: Orig Scot variant of job2

Naomi, which of these is more appropriate for a nurse etc sticking a needle in you?

My mate had a jab/jag last week.

He's now blind in one eye after suffering a stroke.

Perseverer, I knew what it meant - just not why it is used. This conversation has become ridiculous so I’ll leave you to it.
Roy, is that true?
Question Author
perseverer...
:
A prick (Scot)
:
no need for that.
I wouldn't have posted it if it wasn't true, naomi.

You seem to have jagged a nerve, Naomi.
Never was impressed much by the English sense of humour.
I must admit I had never heard of jag before seeing it on AB. Jmy agged yes, but jag no. But Naomi wasn't looking for an argument. Rose bushes don't do either to me. They pricek me or rip off my flesh!
Jagged yes.......
That’s dreadful, Roy. Poor man. Khandro had a stroke after having the Covid jab and feels that was responsible.

Thanks lottie. The voice of common sense.
Purely unintentional, spicerack, but par for the course. What’s to say? ;o)
Partick Thistle Football Club are known as "The Jags".
Question Author
I thought they were called "Partick Thistlenil".
Billy Connolly and the Roman helmet:

Jaggy bunnet, right in the heid.
I know it’s in common use in Scotland but the word makes no sense.
erm
repeatedly told it means injection, er so it makes sense

normal day on AB obviously
perseverer - dont er persevere with this one !
Peter. Your comment = a typical PP comment on AB!
