There might be other Prominent folk doing likewise / similar . Him going public may at least make others think about doing likewise ( if it wasn't on their minds ) and that can only be a good thing

I always like to hear stories of philanthropy when the person has kept it to themselves.
There's a story about George Michael who paid for a couple's IVF treatment but he kept schtum about it and we only found out about it when he passed.
