Good for them. Whatever happened to Playstreets? Remember them from the 50's?
Of course, under the Bill the Tories are about to push through Parliament the kids would all be arrested.
Bloody brilliant!! I must start annoying Lutfur Rahman with some annoying emails.
Hasn't he been found guilty of fraud or corrupt and illegal practices?
oh yes, gness

He was re-elected at the 2014 mayoral election as the candidate for Tower Hamlets First, but the result of this election was declared null and void on 23 April 2015 when the Election Court officially reported Rahman to be "personally guilty" of "corrupt or illegal practices, or both" (electoral fraud) under the Representation of the People Act 1983. He was thus removed from his office with immediate effect and was also personally debarred from standing for elected office until 2021. He was also struck off as a solicitor

Thanks, Jno. I'll have a good look at Wiki for ammunition for my emails.
Fantastic response from those children! Where else can they play safely?
I do hope that the facility is retained. That Lutfer Rahman sound like a right prat.
Sorry, Lutfur.

I was getting mixed up with Lucifer.
He says,''I want to rebuild Tower Hamlets, I want to invest in our future, and give our people a better future than we had in the last seven years.”

Oh yeh?

Yep, they'll be glueing their boat race to the road in no time!

Thanks for all the replies.

When I posted this thread, I thought, "I know what TTT's response will be if he reads this" - and I wasn't wrong!

;-)
IMO the councils should provide places where kids can play, not block off roads that are clearly there to allow traffic to move etc. and decide a road is a playground.
Hey! Councillors, leave them kids alone...
14:18, must be BA surely!
Good for them!

Lots of support here for young people taking direct action. Lucky for them it was action against something that the ABers agree with. If it had been about protecting the planet imstead of protecting their play space, they might have been accused of being something awful.
Good luck to them. Peaceful protest free from criminal damage should always be encouraged to right a wrong.
