Let's just say you were mistaken, gully. Sounds much nicer (and is probably closer to the truth).
Quite why anybody bothers to listen to politicians being interviewed on the radio or telly bemuses me. Adopting my general philosophy that you cannot believe a word that any of them tells you, it's a complete waste of time. If an answer is forthcoming at all (which is rare - they either prevaricate or simply make a statement about something else) a few weeks later they will tell you they said no such thing.
It doesn't matter how many Ministers Mr Sunak does or does not put forward for these farcical episodes as they are almost without exception a complete waste of time. The Ministers would be better off doing something useful with their time (though they might find that difficult) and the broadcasters would better serve their customers if they put on some old episodes of The Flintstones or The Navy Lark.
