//Anyway legally there was nothing Beckham could’ve done at this late stage without being in breach of contract. He simply couldn’t walk away from a deal that would been struck months ago. He would be sued for millions.//
Exactly - he knew that - so why pick on DB and not other people and businesses ?
As to focussing attention .
There can't be many people who aren't aware of Qatar's regime and policies as to LGBT folk .
As to me posting 3 times .
Do you think that was intentional - what do you think ?

People may know about Qatar's attitude to the LGBTQ community, but Lycett was right to direct this at Beckham because he has had s much respect and support from gay people and has openly acknowledged his gay following.
This was seen as a slap in the face.
Also, this was a protest not at Qatar but at Beckham. It's raised awareness of his role and his acceptance of money from this regime.
And lastly - you posting three times. I haven't a clue. Seriously...no idea. If it happened one after the other I'd assume you'd accidentally hit the "back" button on your browser, but this was three times in a twelve minute gap.

Yes they may. But they should also be aware of its attitude towards women. Since "straight" women far outnumber those from the LGBTQ "community" I would have had a bit more time for Mr Lycett (whoever he might be) if he had highlighted that as well. I caught sight of his stunt on the telly last night. I note he did not spread the banknotes so that those between the top and bottom of the piles.

When I seen him shredding the cash I thought the amount that come out the other end didn't seem that much.
He has now said it was faked.
"I streamed myself dropping 10k into a shredder.
Or did I? I haven't quite told you the whole truth. The truth is the money that went into the shredder was real, but the money that came out was fake. I would never destroy money. I would never be so irresponsible.
In fact, the ten grand had already been donated to LGBTQ+ charities before I even pressed send on the initial Tweet last week. I never expected to hear from you. It was an empty threat designed to get people talking."

//Do you think that might be a result of living in an oppressed country, NJ?//
I was talking about worldwide, Zacs. But you raise an interesting point. Because people in places like Qatar are oppressed do you think it reduces the number of (say) gay people there are there? Or do you think it just makes them invisible and thus harder to count? If the former, it suggests that upbringing and surroundings affects people’s eventual sexuality and I’m not sure that’s true.
Thanks for the correction. What I meant was he did not display the bulk of the notes for all to see. It’s my suspicion that he had a genuine note on the top and bottom of each pile only. More than that, UK banknotes are about 0.1mm thick. Even if Mr Lycett had used £5 notes, a pile containing 2,000 notes would be only 20cm (less than eight inches) thick. The notes in Mr Lycett’s video looked to be much thicker than that. It matters not anyway because it seems he didn’t shred the notes anyway. It’s very true, he got the publicity he craved. But it didn’t make much difference to Mr Beckham.
