Like that in France, for example (and only as an example - there are plenty of others which provide far superior outcomes to those in the UK). The UK's system is broken. It is not the envy of the world - it never was. Other countries have found far better ways of funding and managing their healthcare systems. The UK simply pours endless sums of increased funding into it expecting the outcomes to improve. The only outcomes that improve are the numbers and bank balances of non-medical staff, many of whom are totally superfluous. But nobody will change it because it is viewed as a quasi-religion in many quarters (witness the banging of saucepans on Thursday evenings during the pandemic). I don't know who said it but they were right - the UK is a health service with a country attached.
