Since taking up residence in the US, Harry has traded on his royal status but with his book, 'Spare' - yet another whinge-fest allegedly - due out this week, how when all his angst against the royal family is finally exhausted and he has no more to tell, will he earn a living?

My feeling is that they will part company sooner or later.
I've always thought that Nicebloke, but there are two children involved.
He won't need to earn a living.
Some might say there are four children involved, two much taller than the other two for the moment.
Haz and Megs will continue to make millions for many years to come from roughly the same ways that the Beckhams have continued to rake it in long after he stopped kicking a ball about and she stopped trying to sing.
I don't think that Harry is prone to thinking too far ahead. The rumours are (that I've come across) that he expects the family to welcome him back, possibly falling on his neck and weeping as they realise their grievous fault (the last phrase I made up, but it seems likely).

It seems to me that he has no, can have no, understanding of standing on your own two feet in the world. With due economy and possibly downsizing a bit, I think most people could manage quite comfortably on his inheritance from his mother and the other bits and pieces he has.

He is spectacularly unfitted to earning a living, unless he rejoins a military service or some such organisation where he could pilot a helicopter.
I don't think his wife would like that.

Unlikely - the Beckhams have a number of outside business interests that still bring income.

Harry and Meaghan's cachet to date has been their willingness to moan endlessly about how badly they have been treated, and as I have mentioned several times on threads, including this one, that is an appeal that has seriously limited shelf life, and nothing to develop from it.

They could find themselves high and dry when the tide of pity and mawkish voyeurism goes out, and that could well happen in the next few months, once any impact over Harry's tome has been and gone.

Yes, that's my point - do Posh & Becks do anything now that Haz and Megs couldn't do?

The Beckhams' success is as much to do with their points of origin, and the goodwill they brought, that they carry through with them.

David Beckham was one of the most famous and talented sportsmen of his era, a reputation he will simply never lose.

Victoria Beckham was part of one of the biggest and most successful pop groups the world has ever seen, and ditto, that is a reputation that carries on to this day.

Compare that with Harry, a dim-witting whinging royal who has trashed his family every single day and night since he met his wife.

Meaghan, a minor-role actress in a successful television series which is no longer in production, and which she left over five years ago.

There really is no comparison in their ability to obtain and retain public affection to the required levels.

You didn't answer my question but I'll comment that I think you are confusing your own personal affection with public affection, and public affection with getting paid for doing things.

I chose the Beckhams as an example of people who are making plenty of money doing things after being famous for doing other things, other examples are available Looking good goes a very long way.

All royal children are wards of the monarch - not of their parents.

I have no 'personal affection' for either of the Beckhams, I simply stated what I believe to be self-evident.
archi - // You didn't answer my question ... //

I think I did.

The starting points of the Beckhams, as opposed to the Sussex's very much points to the paucity of opportunities for the royal couple.

They have one selling point, and one only, and it's losing value daily.
You didn't. I asked what Posh and Becks were doing today that Haz and Megs couldn't do - and you have still not answered. In any case I'm sure there are indeed a few things - the point was that there are plenty of similar opportunities open to good looking famous people and I think that they fit into that bracket so will never be short of a penny.

Archibaldy you may well be right that they could have other business opportunities, but first they would have to lose their much vaunted victim mentality, but there isn't much sign of that yet.

Telling their story as they see it is what's paying the bills at the moment and best to do it now while the story is still fresh. Once that wears off will come the stories of how working through it together and telling the story to the world made them stronger and braver, role models for the wronged, and oh don't they look good in his and hers Ray-Bans. Those two are going nowhere.
To clarify - going nowhere from their current position in the public eye and public interest.

every now and then I feel a twinge - twingette then of sympathy for po' Mogz
so many people want to cut her throat

I cdnt believe how quick people were to identify the lone curtsy on Suits
an now to rip into Spare ( just a little whinge) with sundry knives and slashing instruments
How can anyone actually to be bothered by this? An irrelevant member of an atavistic throwback family writes a book - so what? Who cares?
