...a speech by Neil Kinnock made some years ago came to mind. Are we worse off now than we were at the dawn if Thatcherism?

I warn you not to be ordinary

– I warn you not to be young

– I warn you not to fall ill

– I warn you not to get old.

It is hard to fully understand the situation at the moment due to everybody going on strike.

The media seems to enjoy stirring things up and trying to get an unbiased view of the actual situation is impossible.

I am still in regular contact with my GP by phone, this is my most preferred method. I only have to go to the practice for blood tests - at the most once a week.

I hate to think about becoming suddenly unwell and needing immediate treatment though. But living on your own adds even more concern about that.

I used to worry if I dropped dead at home the cats would starve. My brother reassured me that would be unlikely to happen as they would have no problem seeing me as yet another food source. He sniggered like Mutley from Dastardly and Mutley after he said it.
I too have had no trouble (so far) contacting my GP surgery, though it's some weeks since I needed an actual consultation.

However, other ABers have posted about the great difficulty they've had. So yes, I suspect it would be unwise to fall ill this winter and I advise against it.
"The NHS is safe in our hands said the Cons".
It might have been ,if Boris hadn't given £Millions . Yes £millions of tax payers money away to his cronies to manufacture useless unusable PPE Equipment.
Million wasted on PPE yes but lets be fair tens of billions more spent every year and still things are no better. Maybe more money isnt the answer. Strikes dont help either
We could have first class public services in this country. The main problem is that people are unwilling to pay for them
Supposed to be the best NHS in Europe according to some Con supporters on here.
// The main problem is that people are unwilling to pay for them//
So true... most people think others should pay more,,, but only those whose richer than they are
