Brexit A Colossal Mistake

From my posting on this site Abers will be aware that Brexit is an absolute disaster for the UK, but Sir John Major’s assessment is even worse than that, stating that it is a colossal mistake.

Brexiteers must be wondering how our former Prime Minister who still has an interest in politics and world affairs (and an interest in the wellbeing of the UK as a whole) can have such a diametrically opposed view to them.

That's really funny. :o)))

er losing £100 bn a year in lost trade - er OK, ( wheel out AB excuse)

Boris the liar promised well £350m a week to the NHS
and trade treaties like oven ready chickens
and none came to pass
which I can see is diametrically opposed to what he said

but you know, usual caveat - this is AB so beware crayzies
PP, //this is AB so beware crayzies //

Don't worry, PP. Your reputation precedes you.
hymie, if you only ever use pro EUSSR sources and video's you are never going to get a balanced view and you come across as a swivel eyed loon. Once again ably demonstrated by the judge.
"Boris the liar promised well £350m a week to the NHS " - leaving aside the RBID, the NHS are in facty getting that and more.
"From my posting on this site Abers will be aware that Brexit is an absolute disaster for the UK"

What an arrogant assumption - that everyone on this site acquires their knowledge from your posts.
I think the people who post on this site, and those who don't post, but merely read, are capable of making up their own minds, with or without your posts.
THe EUSSR is now feeding the great unwashed with insects!

"" Last week, the European Union passed regulation 2023/5. It allows ‘partially defatted’ powder of the house cricket (Acheta domesticus) into the food chain for human consumption.
From this month, cricket powder can be added to the following: ‘multigrain bread and rolls, crackers and breadsticks, cereal bars, dry pre-mixes for baked products, biscuits, dry stuffed and non-stuffed pasta-based products, sauces, processed potato products, legume- and vegetable- based dishes, pizza, pasta-based products, whey powder, meat analogues, soups and soup concentrates or powders, maize flour-based snacks, beer-like beverages, chocolate confectionery, nuts and oilseeds, snacks other than chips, and meat preparations, intended for the general population’.
The regulation is effective inside the European Union and, unforgivably, Northern Ireland due to the treasonable eponymous protocol.
The first thing to note is that at a European Union level regulation can be passed without being ratified by any of the 27 national parliaments remaining in the benighted organisation.
Regulations are imposed (not debated) by the European Commission. In this case, the powdered bug was imposed into the food chain of around half a billion people without debate.""

Standing on a landmine is also a colossal mistake, but what to do? You can't unexplode a bomb, you can only deal with the consequences as best as you can ...

Keep chomping on those sour grapes Hymie.
PP - // His opinions only, no more valid than anyone else’s.

so.... the second world war did NOT occur in the forties, is as valid an opinion as - - it did! //

The So Rule in action.

Stating something a poster did not say, in order to criticise him for it.

Of course, your point is fatally flawed.

You cannot gainsay an opinion by pretending to gainsay a fact.

Yes, the war happened, just as we did join, and leave Europe, those are facts.

What is being offered for consideration is a former PM's opinion.

If you don't know the difference between an opinion and a fact, maybe the News Section isn't for you.
Waiter ... There's a fly in my soup used to be the start of a joke. It is no longer funny.

To be accurate, your postings offer your opinion, as is Sir John in your link.

But your, and his, opinions are just that, opinions, not facts.

And as I pointed out to PP - if you don't know the difference between an opinion and a fact, then maybe you should avoid the News Section.

Down in England it was the English Tory nationalists who were the main Brexiteers,up here in Scotland it was the SNP nationalists who were the main Brexiteers.A plague on both their houses.
Nationalists,huh......bad choice,Tory voters,bad choice,SNP voters....
Was brexit a colossal mistake, NO

You keep saying this but how do you know?

And even if you do, what difference does it make? I didn't know supporters of any particular party should have voted any particular way in the referendum. It was not a party issue (as indicated by your figures - if they are accurate).
Mainly from the Guardian newspaper,NJ.The percentages for up here in Scotland was 29% of SNP voters voted for Brexit,27% of Scottish Tory voters voted for Brexit,19% of Scottish Labour voters voted for Brexit.Ergo up here in Scotland, the SNP were the biggest Brexiteers.
//Mainly from the Guardian newspaper,NJ...//

That's good enough for me! If the Grauniad says so, it must be true!
