Well the state old age pension is the lowest in Europe so we are on the way to it
That's interesting. According to the polls Britain is also on course to have a Labour government, so is that the reason we're on course to become poorer?

Even Labour could not bring down the UK. like these milkmen have done in the last 13 years.
You're so lucky you don't live here, Gulliver. God! Think how much you'd moan if you did! I guess that makes us lucky too. ;o)

Not many of the dyed in the wool blues disagreeing with me ...
That means they agree with what Sir Keir says .... Good. end of.
Hate to disappoint you, Gulliver, but it probably means they're not bothering to read your post because they've heard it all before.
Naomi is right! Sorry Gulliver whatever party I support. None of them actually! Change post to posts.
"Sir Keir Starmer says"Britains are on course to become ......." - I think Sir Beer would probably have said: "...Britons are on course to become ......" etc

gulliver - Your thread, and any posts on it, last as long as they do not contravene Site Rules, or become derailed to the point where continuation is pointless.

The same as all other threads and posts - that's how Answerbank works.
The posts would evaporate into thin air if only ABers didn't reply to them.
gulliver - // Not many of the dyed in the wool blues disagreeing with me ...

Even allowing for your regular habit of stretching logic beyond its snapping point, that's reaching, even for you.

Assuming that because someone does not contest a point offered means that they must automatically agree with the opposing view is simply not sustainable.

If I read a post that says that 'Jeremy Corbyn was the greatest Prime Minister Britain never had ...' I would not bother posting a rebuttal, because a rebuttal is as obvious as posting that the sun has risen this morning, something so obvious that it absolutely does not need to be stated on here.

On that basis, assuming that no 'dyed in the wool blues' waste their valuable time replying to your tedious one-trick-pony threads on here can be seen as tantamount to tacit agreement with the views of the Leader Of The Opposition, is so nonsensical, that I have already wasted too much of my own valuable time pointing that obvious fact out to you.

he is quite right...

britain is a poor country with some extremely wealthy people in it

https://www.ft.com/content/ef265420-45e8-497b-b308-c951baa68945

an average british household has about as much disposable income as an average slovenian household... many parts of the UK are as poor as former communist countries

https://www.theatlantic.com/newsletters/archive/2022/10/uk-economy-disaster-degrowth-brexit/671847/

the reason for this is partly because of brexit but mostly because of austerity. we have not been as willing to invest in our economy as our neighbours and have relied on often dodgy financial services for our prosperity... it has not worked. The tory experiment has failed.
Gully, some folk just can't stand the truth or even question the truth when it's staring in the face. You're p****** against the wind with the blue brigade on here but I admire your tenacity.
12:44, BA right there.
Untitled, if you think poverty in this country compares with those you mention you’ve never been there.
In addition austerity cuts have caused hundreds of thousands of deaths as well as gutting productivity

Tories need to reckon honestly with the real human cost of their ideas... the last twelve years have been a disaster for this country.

They are responsible for this and they need to face up to it! Many Labour people did a lot of soul searching after the Iraq disaster and did what they could to prevent it happening again when the tories wanted to take us into Syria in 2014... the tories need to do the same with austerity and properly look at what they have done... the death and misery they have caused
they are facts naomi
