...after spending half a century in the slammer, surely the outside world would prove a very difficult place. He's never had to worry about bills etc and the daily struggle we all must endure. Personally I don't think it's safe to let him out but surprised he even wants to get out.

The World has changed dramatically, that would be difficult for anyone to cope with let alone with all the media hype. He wont be able to settle quietly anywhere as the MSM will out him every time. So it will be from 50 years in a cell to full limelight. It wont end well for him.

He has proved to be something of a loose cannon over the decades. Is eligibility for release will certainly be a test for each member that sits on the parole board!
I'd be more inclined to set him free had he been in a stable relationship with someone whose temperament was akin to say Prudie or Barsel!!

Meanwhile Kenneth Noye, sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering Stephen Cameron in a road rage incident whilst on licence from prison in 1996 after being convicted of complicity and laundering money in the notorious Brinks Mat robbery, and subsequently killing an on duty police officer and being found not guilty of murder has been free to enjoy his life for many years.
