Why does any interviewer ever seem to challenge them on this. To be fair to keir he could hardly blame the child for the dads choice but he could still have mentioned it dosnt seem to make sense.

On Tuesday morning Julia Hartley-Brewer had a pearl-clutching Liberal MP on her show, and when JHB made the factually correct point that France is a safe country, the guest had a fit of the vapours and kept on interrupting with comments like “they’re feeling places like Syria”. JHB made the reasonable point that once out of Syria they have already fled, and have most certainly done so by the time France is reached, but the simpering MP just would not/could not see JHB’s point.
