Last I heard the same problems were still in play:
The war in Ukraine
Oppression of certain groups in North Africa and the middle East
Poverty in certain of Eastern Europe both driving economic and refugee movement
Covid is still proving a massive drain on NHS resources so there is little chance of reducing the backlog of cases.
Energy prices while dropping are still far too high for the impact to be managed by many families
Add in the post Brexit adjustments, which were always going to be problematic
I don't think a government of either party will be able to make things much better
Wave your flags, wear your rosettes, if you must, better to find some way of working together to get a grip on the things you still have power over.
