Does it say mp's are going on strike??
It's understandable for passport staff...there's never been a better time and unlike private sector like supermarkets they know there's a bottomless pit when asking for money as there jobs are safe and the goverment taxpayer is expected to stump up
Our local bus services are on an almost total shut down from monday, this of course will only affect the poorest, the elderly, children who need to get to school, and non working mothers without access to a second car. Anyone with any ability to act will be absolutely unaffected. The taxi firms are already saying they will be charging a premium due to demand, I wonder if the unions would be so militant if they didn't smell blood in the political waters.

The backwardness may well get an improved offer, which will result in either cprice rises, or cuts to services and job losses, driving up inflation and therefore the cost of living but hey. They will have more money, it is those without the ability to strike, those without a voice who suffer as a result of their actions
No, everyone is not striking. Even in the sectors that do it's not right across the board. Dont believe the MSM, they thrive on misery and clicks. Good news does not generate so many clicks.
Strikes are the only weapon the working man has to try and unseat the worst Govt the UK has ever seen whose aim is .... "Robbing the poor to pay the rich"
Trouble is it only helps one group at the expense of everyone else. I was a union member, even a rep for a while, still don't believe striking is the answer. Working to rule is often enough, but then that means a longer campaign with no overtime.

So you concede that these strikes are about unseating a democratically elected government and not about improving conditions for themselves.
Those of us who remember the winter of discontent are well aware that striking on such a large scale can be politically motivated underpinned back then by those in the Soviet Union who wanted to have friends within Nato, and to weaken our ties with the US.
Sunak is the richest PM to ever occupy No 10 . What would he, or Haystack or even Truss know about hardship, or why people go on strike.
"everyone is striking" - several strikes have been called off this week.
Well that's the winter of discontent almost over , now get ready for the Summer of discontent..
"Sunak is the richest PM to ever occupy No 10 . What would he, or Haystack or even Truss know about hardship,"

same as you on here trying to make out you know anything about politics....

The trouble with strikes, it will never ends as the politician says it has created a template.

The gov need to look at what instigated the strikes.
'The gov need to look at what instigated the strikes.'

What, like a global pandemic followed by a global recession?
years of accumulated austerity may have played a part too.
OCN @ 10.15 Spot on.
Bazwill run @ 09.39 What year did you graduate from the Dyed in the wool Tory School of radicalisation then Baz ?
Gulliver as you haven't replied to my comment of 08.44 I assume that you agree that the aim of the union leaders is to bring down a democratically elected government and they are using their members as pawns in their plans.

We are wasting £7M a day on external seekers to benefit and break the UK economy that for one is the cause. Then the energy and food price increases for sure. The gov will aim to control the price and maintain at this sky high price as the public are used to it. This sky high price will means more tax being generated. So it is not the gov interest to bring the price down.
