sp, do you wear your ignorance like a badge. She became a Queen the same time as the King became the King, on the passing of the former Queen. The coronation is just a ceremony it has no actual bearing on anything. The Queen will always be a Queen consort but that should never be said when referring to her and never has been in history until now, perhaps to sate the ignorant, I don't know.

I know folk who have met her who say she is totally down to earth, open and genuinely friendly. I always felt she was in an impossible situation up against someone who was by and large a media creation. Of course infidelity is wrong, but it carries its own pain and sadnesses. Now two people who have loved each other most of their lives are together. King Charles seems the better for it and she has a deft touch in managing some of his quirks and his impatience.

13:29, yes but that's the palace kow towing to modern expectations. They learnt that after Diana died when many went apoplectic because the flag wasn't lowered to half mast. The royal standard NEVER flies at half mast, even after the death of a monarch because there is always a monarch. So this time when the Queen died, guess what they loweredd the flag, a great insult to her majesty so please the ignorant masses. At least she didn't know about it. This "consort" thing is the same, most of those using the word probably never heard of it until the current Queen became one. As I have said on previous occasions the Queen will always be a consort but that word should never be used when referring to her. End of.
