Junior Doctor Strike - Good For Them??
I'm open to be educated here but doctors on strike today and asking for a 35% pay increase. My question is really that nearly 70% of the country are supporting their action. Why is it so popular. Is it because we think they deserve such an increase or is it partly to support any group that helps to topple the government?

Prudie, I cannot answer the question in your OP. I simply find it amazing that so many people support the doctors' action that I find appalling. As if the NHS and Government didn't have enough to contend with following Brexit and the pandemic.
Where does anyone expect the money to come from to satisfy such incomparable greed? Those making these unrealistic demands whilst trying to hold the country to ruin must think they are living in Shangri-La. As we all know, that is a fictional place in Tibet so I may just stick my tongue out at them. Life is difficult enough for many people - why make it any harder? I despair, I truly do.

I wonder has anyone on this thread helped support a close family member going through university for years to become a doctor. Then doing the long hours whilst still studying for exams and then the constant training to continue learning and improving their skills. Nearly forgot paying off their student loans.
I fully support them.

All of which, of course, they were compelled to do. And none of which applies to people in any other profession.

Well if you inhabit any of the Midsomer villages of course you won't get it, you're already conditioned.
Willow on leather, crustless sandwiches and jolly hockeysticks, until someone crosses you then all bets are off and it's cats in a sack time.
Hope this helps. x
