He was elected on a proportional voting system by winning 57% of the vote, and as required presented himself for re-election after the last General Election.

He was returned unopposed.

His opponents had their chance to stand against him and blew it. They should now shut up and get on with supporting their party.

He should go - look how much success that other ginger-haired chap with the accent had !

I guess he'll get a peerage or high flying position in Strasbourg/Brussels all expenses paid.

He is a decent man and I am sure he will continue to do well in what is fundamentally a minority party.I am sure when the time comes he will along with the party faithful decide in a democratic manner.

As Drisgirl says, he's in a minority party so he's hardly going to be haring about setting laws, creating peace in the Middle East and wiping out hospital waiting lists.

Zen, is there something he should be doing that he's not and is there someone better about to replace him?
