Genuine question - all of those I have seen being interviewed leaving Sudan appear to be 'foreign' (am I allowed to say that?) - how are they British nationals and what right do they have to be rehomed here. What are they doing in Sudan if they are not Sudanese?
...better get your crash helmet on lanks!
Just been reading the Sudan thread and probably should have posted this on there. Still a genuine question though, I have no problem bringing people home if they are stuck there trying to get back but if they are living and working there they must have thought it was a good place to live.
this country allows dual nationality and so does sudan… the country used to be part of our empire until 1956 so many Sudanese have connections to this country
Still waiting for someone to tell me the porky. The best we have so far is an opinion that might not agree with TROB.
She claimed applications for asylum in the UK could be made via the UNHCR but they said they are not involved.

She was wrong but whether she was lying, hadn't bothered to check the facts or just had a stab in the dark, it didn't look as if she knew what she was on about.

Suella Braverman said ‘The UNHCR....they are the right mechanism by which people should apply, if they do want to seek asylum in the UK.’ – THAT IS A LIE.
Are you a racist,Hymie? If Sue Braverman was a white woman we wouldnt see hair or hide of your racist posting.
12,47 There you go then Lankeela You vote Brexit to keep them out, and the Govt that ,no doubt you voted for, send the British Army and the RAF to bring them in at tax payers expense, Do you think you have got it wrong then.
Is Lankeela a SNP supporter, gully?English Tories,Scottish SNPers, gully.Brexiteers to the core.
i find it very unlikely that she was actually unaware that what she was saying was untrue… its possible i suppose but it really is the kind of thing you would expect the home secretary to know… i find it much more likely that she lied in order to get through a difficult interview
You are another racist, untitled? As i said to Hymie if Braverman was white there would be no mention of her.

Now I’m being called a racist for pointing out that our Home Secretary is a liar.

TTT can vouch for the number of times I’ve called out Boris Johnson for being a liar.
-- answer removed --
i am pretty sure the home secretary would get a lot of attention if she was white ynna because both theresa may and amber rudd were white and got very heavily criticised over windrush
hymie: "Suella Braverman said ‘The UNHCR....they are the right mechanism by which people should apply, if they do want to seek asylum in the UK.’ – THAT IS A LIE. " - it's a belief, an opinion. Are you saying that everyone with a belief or opinion turns out to in correct is a liar?
hymie: "TTT can vouch for the number of times I’ve called out Boris Johnson for being a liar. " - yes I can but you have never given me an actual example. You lefty type seem to struggle with English. What with RBID and now not knowing what a porky actually is, back to school methinks.
it is very very unlikely that the home secretary believed that to be the case when she said it toratoratora… it’s possible of course but it would be very odd
"What are they doing in Sudan if they are not Sudanese?"

You might be amazed to learn there are a fair few Britons living and working in many countries and British folk have been doing that for years.

so as usual no one can point out an actual porky! Right oh!
