I am putting this on here rather than Gulliver's latest attempt at crucifying the Tory party. As the news about Suella Braverman speeding has been reported by the Gruaniad how can anyone take it seriously when this appears on their page?

"The Guardian has spent the past 13 years tirelessly investigating the shortcomings of the Tories in office – austerity, Brexit, partygate, cronyism, the Truss debacle and the individual failings of ministers who behave as if the rules don’t apply to them.

Our work has resulted in resignations, apologies and policy corrections. Our continued revelations about the conveyor belt of Tory dysfunction are the latest in a long line of important scoops. And with an election just round the corner, we won’t stop now. It’s crucial that we can all make informed decisions about who is best to lead the UK. Will you invest in the Guardian this year?

Unlike many others, the Guardian has no shareholders and no billionaire owner. Just the determination and passion to deliver high-impact global reporting, always free from commercial or political influence. Reporting like this is vital for democracy, for fairness and to demand better from the powerful."

"Reporting like this is vital for democracy" - really? You think that is democracy?

Perhaps gulliver is their ED.
You don’t need to read the Guardian to realise how incompetent and corrupt the Tory government is – they are doing a fantastic job of that on their own.
I wouldn't blow my nose with the Guardian.
all she did was try and get a private course. Nothing to see here.
lankeela:
In what way is Guardian reporting not democratic? (I presume you think it is not).
But its right that they expose things ministers and politicians would rather sweep under the carpet....but so long as its done evenly so corruption and dodgy dealing by any party is also highlighted. The tories seem responsible for more than there fair share though
Funny they seem to have forgotten their own report about the Labour MP doing far worse.

Atheist "The Guardian has spent the past 13 years tirelessly investigating the shortcomings of the Tories in office" speaks for itself don't you think?
Well, the Guardian is hardly the only one guilty of bias. Some of the carp considered to be news in the Mail, or on Fox News is hardly impartial.
lankeela; Surely it's not undemocratic to report what the government and its ministers and MP's do? Retro pointed out that the Guardian reported a labour MP misbehaving. Democracy doesn't mean that criticism of the government should not be allowed.

I know you have been out today but I addressed this very point on the Bravaman post by who else but gulliver.
I've looked through Saturday's Guardian but cannot find the Passage, Lankeela. What page is it on please?
I used to buy both the Gruadian and the Daily Wail. Now i dont bother. Both papers are as bad as each other.Even their crosswords arent as good(or difficult)as they used to be.
It's to her credit that Mrs Braverman managed to be in a news story from this year rather than 2019.

As for The Guardian passing the hat, remind you of any other organisation?
So it’s now OK for Tory government ministers the break the ministerial code?

Sunak has said he has full confidence in her, so time to clear her desk.

As your question title is not relevant, is the question about Braverman or is it the Guardian?
"I used to buy both the Gruadian and the Daily Wail. Now i dont bother. Both papers are as bad as each other.Even their crosswords arent as good(or difficult)as they used to be."

Unless the situation has changed the Daily Wail (DM plc) still owns this site.....so depending how you look at it you're still helping to earn it money...
DM owns AB? Crikey I didn't know that.
Does it, really?
I think not.
