they are very silly. It's legal to have the seeds and keep them but as soon as you plant them you can be nicked for intent to supply though you could always try the medicinal use only defence. Try a web search on "hydroponics" for more info on growing your own.

my mother in law inadvertently grew some in her attempts to feed the local bird population, imagine her suprise when the local CID came round to investigate her complaints that the local students were taking an unwholesome interest in those strange looking plants that had sprung up in her front garden
