What's This Odious Creep Up To Now?
I now understand TTT's 5C connotation . It fits Labour Mayor Khan well. He seems hell bent on ruining any commerce, tourism and hospitality in the capital. Sure there is a multi million shortfall in his running of TfL but it's about time central government examined his accounts. and his ineptitude. The only good thing is it will lose the London vote for Labour probably at the next G.E. and I hope he is not re-elected as Mayor but his thieving schemes will have already been implemented by then.

ULEZ's are just another tax on working people. There is no proof whatsover that traffic pollution has ever harmed anyone. But the motorist is/will be the cash cow of the future. What would happen if, I say if, all vehicles are EV by 2030? The ULEZ's will become chargeable just for useage. This is the future!

Frankly I'd reverse all the Blair Devolution cobras, total disaster the whole sheet show. The best thing TGL ever did for London was abolish the communist GLC the last thing we need is another cabal like Khan is building. Gawd I'd never live in London anyway but the current inhabitants have my sympathy.
//wonder who he should be replaced with ?//
Anybody who has the interests of the Capital as a priority, who doesn't uses the Police Service as his personal money box, someone who has the guts to tackle knife crime and someone who can run a transport system without squandering bail outs from central government and ultimately the tax payer. That should be enough to be getting along with but I forgot to mention the unemployment his ULEZ scheme will engender.

"In theory, Khan’s overreach is intended to improve the quality of the city’s air, which has never been cleaner. Yet the Jacobs Report, which Khan himself commissioned, found the carbon emissions reduction of Ulez-plus would be ‘negligible’, while disproportionately punishing low earners. Post-Covid, Transport for London has run in the red. Like so many top-down green tyrannies, this one is a fig leaf for picking the public pocket.
The folks behind the stealing and vandalising of at least 200 enforcement cameras are not your standard rabble-rousers: older, often of modest means and formerly apolitical. A semi-retired HGV driver organising UK Unites, which claims to represent 2.5 million people opposing this and other ‘anti-car’ initiatives, Phil Elliot believes even the police are on the protestors’ side: ‘They are us. They are driving old cars and they hate Sadiq Khan.’ Elliot believes that Ulez expansion may be the straw-on-camel event that ‘makes the country go bang’."

As usual Khan tries to justify his attack on motorists by claiming London's air pollution kills 4,000 people a year. He has only cited one case of a young girl dying of Asthma which was probably with her on day 1. Meanwhile the last smog over London and the rest of the UK was blown in courtesy of European cities about 8 years ago .

Khans schemes have been adopted by other Labour run councils. His so called ULEZ scheme affects motorists in the Home Counties not just the London area. Heathrow will be affected. The next hit on the motorist will be pay per mile in a town where you live. That will be followed by an allowance of journeys by car deemed necessary i.e hospital/doctors appointments shopping. etc etc. That is unlikely to include visiting relatives or elderly people.
