Boris Would Have Been Suspended...
for 90 days had he not resigned. tbh, I am not surprised but it is a mucky game in politics and there will be more dirt-throwing, no doubt. The world still spins ;)

//i honestly dom't know what his cringeing followers want.// Ah, if all else fails name call. It seems quite clear from the posts above: An impartial set of Judges with the Chair in particular being impartial. And what is wrong with that?

Even the lowliest of MPs is given a Pass, that allows them to come & go to the House of Commons, once there term as an MP has come to an end.
So egregious did the Privileges Committee judge Johnson’s behaviour in lying to Parliament and the Committee – that they have recommended he not be given such a Pass.

// Just watch those former Labour seats Boris won disappear next time around.//
They very probably will, although it's never going to be entirely clear how much that has to do with Johnson being removed as leader.
// Those people didn't vote Conservative - they voted Boris ... //
This I think is fair to an extent, *but* they also voted against Corbyn, and perhaps for Brexit generally. Who knows how things would have played out with a different Labour leader, but it's pretty clear that Corbynist Labour was doomed in 2019. But in any case, that was (almost) four years ago, and since then (and particularly since the back of 2021) Johnson has lost a lot of his support and popularity.
// and they've been let down - badly. //
That I agree with.

Boris didn’t win them, the local MPs did. They voted to get Brexit done, and now it has been. The Conservatives haven’t got much else to offer. Levelling up was supposed to get money to those constituencies but it hasn’t worked at all. But the Conservative will lose those seats not because Boris is gone, but because the economy has nose dived, and the cost of living crisis is hitting them hard.

What many might not realise is that Boris was only being investigated by the Committee for the contempt charge of deliberately misleading the House of Commons – for which we ‘the taxpayer’ stumped up a quarter of a million pounds for his defence.
But what Boris and his brilliant defence team managed to do was get him found guilty of 5 different contempt offences.
The additional four are:-
• Deliberately misleading the Committee
• Breaching confidence
• Impinging the Committee and thereby undermining the democratic process of the House
• Being complicit in the campaign of the abuse and attempted intimidation of the Committee
Perhaps Boris should sue his lawyers for being as incompetent as himself.

can anyone who alleges bias or unfairness point to any specific sections of the report where this is strongly evidenced?
i read it this morning and it lays out very clearly why they reach the conclusions that they did... if they were just making it up to get johnson then it should be very easy indeed to demonstrate yet i notice no johnsonite nor even johnson himself have actually done so

You may have noticed Gromit, that in a split party not all Conservatives necessarily manage to be even handed with judgement and opinion of others in their party. BJ had to put up with a lot of flak while pushing ahead with the people's decision, and made many opponents doing so. While it's important to have all main parties represented, exactly who it is from those parties, who participate is a major need to check. All should be beyond suspicion.
