It really isn't that difficult to comprehend. You can either be a captain OF the Red Devils ( a nickname of a Football team) or you can be a Captain IN The Red Devils ( a Military rank below a Major and above a Lieutenant in the Parachute Regiment which is also nicknamed The Red Devils.
