I believe if you look at the video closely, the man is kicking the activists phone out of his hand.

I don't think that causing possible brain damage is the way to go.
Whaaaaat??? A mod removed their own post or, shock horror, a mod removed another mod's post? You just couldn't make this stuff up...

"I don't think that causing possible brain damage is the way to go." - ordinarily I would not respond to this poster but you need to have a brain before it can be damaged!
I doubt that defence would stand up to scrutiny in a court.
When Plod refuse to act, and in some cases actively support it then it is of no surprise when the general public take the law into their own hands.

This is 100% the fault of the useless MET. It should be split into four forces and cleared out of all the dross and liberals.
JimF - You don't know who deleted the post.

Let's stay on the topic shall we?
while i am sure they would rather avoid it just stop oil are prepared to get hit... it means more disruption to courts, jails etc. It is part of nonviolent activism and civil disobedience... you have to be prepared to get hit and not hit back.

at present they have plenty of volunteers ready to take the place of anyone arrested or beaten or dragged off... they are able to arrange their slow marches every weekend now. beat up one... another takes their place, you end up charged with assault and JSO continues to gum up the courts.

ultimately however their disruption is as nothing
compared to the impact of climate change, which is also being inflicted on all of us against our will and is a genuine global emergency. catastrophic climate change will result in worse than missed hospital appointments... much much worse.
Untitled - Unfortunately, your position relies on the assumption that two situations are correct beyond argument.

One is that climate change can be halted by changes in humanity's behaviours, and the second is that JSO's programme of civil disruption is justified and effective.

I would argue that the exact opposite is true in both instances.
However justified you think this is, untitled, nothing justifies the disruption and misery they are causing to ordinary people who are simply attempting to get on with their daily lives and can do nothing about their demands anyway. If they must protest, they should have the good sense to protest where it matters. They may even generate a smidgeon of support then but instead of that all they're doing is attracting animosity - and understandably. They are a proverbial pain in the backside - and that's putting it mildly.
"If they must protest, they should have the good sense to protest where it matters."

what do you mean by this?

unfortunately climate change isn't going to leave anyone alone to their business and it is indeed possible to reduce its severity
Question Author
come on untitled own up, are you are one of these wallies?
"They are a proverbial pain in the backside - and that's putting it mildly."

that's the idea. many activists from history were very annoying indeed but their achievements benefit all of us. JSO is the same.
What do I mean? How about the oil companies' head offices .... or parliament? As it is they aren't encouraging support. Quite the reverse.
i am an anonymous person on the internet toratoratora... i can't "own up" to anything because i am nobody... even if i say "no" then people will think i am!!
Well let them stick to that. The people they're disrupting can't fulfil their wishes.
If plod arrested them and the Judiciary had the balls to lock them up it would stop.

But neither will, so it continues.

One has to wonder why we fund the Police these days, well some forces.
