So there was a 0.6 error.
Hardly Earth shattering.
Good that it was better than estimated, but it is still very poor.
GROMIT, it shows the economy was 0.6% higher in that periodvrather than being 1.2% lower, as was reported at the time, which is a 1.8% difference.
Thanks TCL

Whippy woo !
From the link...

"The government said it showed "those determined to talk down the British economy have been proved wrong".
The Office for National Statistics said changes were mainly because it had "richer data" from its annual survey."

The government seems to be accusing the ONS of being determined to talk down the British economy.
in these figures, you should always take into account ( pun haw haw haw) the wobble

here I think it is standard error of the mean ( or not) - and 0.6 is easily within the error

but we all really knew that didnt we
Lamont tried this twenty y ago
I wonder why it has taken the ONS 2 years to present more accurate data?
Are they slow at counting?
Maybe the govt asked them to "find some more data"
Doesn’t fit Hymie’s skewed narrative, that’s why.

Gromit - it’s growth. Shouldn’t that he celebrated?
DD,
I posted this. Perhaps you missed it…

// Good that it was better than estimated //
Meanwhile Italy declares a state of emergency, Germany sinks into recession and another period of extreme right wing attitudes, Spain goes into of spasms of fury and confusion because of an heterosexual kiss, Belgium denies "asylum" to all unaccompanied males and Holland "flatly" denies to follow Eeyoo farming policy. We would have been blamed for all of this and footed the bill if we hadn't told em to do one.

So there was a 0.6 error.

Peter Pedant
and 0.6 is easily within the error

Friday night on AB I suppose.
The figures originally trumpeted by the ONS meant the UK was at the bottom of the biggest G7 economies in terms of its recovery from the pandemic and were a very big deal indeed ... according to the Strasburg syndrome sufferers. Now it seems that the, reluctantly released, correct figures now mean that the UK economy is performing much better than Germany but is no big deal. Get over yourselves remainiac problem instigators.
Gromit - you also posted “Whippy woo”. Doesn’t take a genius to realise that was sarcastic.
Germany is now the sick man of Europe.

Again, doesn’t fit the narrative.
// The revised figures also show the pandemic lockdown collapse in the economy was smaller than thought in 2020, with output declining by 10.4% rather than 11%. //

So we are celebrating a 10.4% decline of our economy. Only in the last dregs of a failed 13 year Conservative tenure in No.10, can that be touted (by the most deluded ABers) as a plus.
// Deskdiary Germany is now the sick man of Europe. Again, doesn’t fit the narrative. //

Because it isn’t true.

Germany is in recession, the UK ain’t.

I know that pains you, but that’s a fact.
//Germany suffered the steepest decline in business activity for more than three years this month, according to survey data published Wednesday, stoking fears that Europe’s biggest economy is falling back into recession. The survey highlighted a “deepening downturn in manufacturing,” with output falling for the fourth consecutive month. Activity in services fell for the first time in eight months.
“Any hope that the service sector might rescue the German economy has evaporated. Instead, the service sector is about to join the recession in manufacturing,” said Cyrus de la Rubia, chief economist at Hamburg Commercial Bank, which publishes the survey of German companies in partnership with S&P Global.//

//(Bloomberg) -- The UK economy appears to have pulled ahead of Germany’s in its recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, with updated figures suggesting gross domestic product rose more quickly than thought.//

There you have it. The anti Britain 5c interpret any stats, from anywhere as, as proof that the Eeyoo and Germany in particular are our rightful rulers. Quislings all. Please supply links if you are quoting statistical figures. ... Instated of relying on the premise that no one will require confirmation from an independent source that is not AB. We used to be able to trust what was allowed to stand on here. Those days are gone.

(Bloomberg) -- The UK economy appears to have pulled ahead of Germany’s in its recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, with updated figures suggesting gross domestic product rose more quickly than thought.
The UK growth was 0.1% this year and Germany’s was -0.5%.
So we are out performing 0.6% better than Germany.
Which is good, but not really much to celebrate. Unless you are really desperate.
