I should have emphasised that the reason for the fuss is the term "depleted uranium". I think there is enough in the links to explain why uranium is used in armour-piercing weaponry and how the form of uranium used has a very long half-life, rendering its radioactivity minimal although there are toxicity issues which also apply to other weapons.

It reminds me of the interview (I've mentioned before) with one of the Klitschkos on France 24 just after russia's full scale invasion 18 months ago, when the ruzzians appeared to be advancing in the capital. Citizens of Kyiv were offered to take possession of a gun in the event of invaders entering the city (as happened briefly before they were all eliminated).
"Won't that be a bit dangerous?" piped up the interviewer.
Klitschko's face was ... interesting.

"Organised crime is rife in Ukraine...are we supposed to pretend it isn't?"
All countries have organiosed crime.
I was responding (more fool me) to the idea that "Ukraine's government is organised crime". The bot or whatever it is is suggesting that somehow we are all still in Sovet times. The truth is that Ukraine moved on from that, espccially recently: Russia regressed: from oppression by the communist party to repression by gangsters of no political affiliation.

In an attempt to get away from all this nonsense, here's some light relief:
