With so much focus on 'The Offensive' this may be getting overlooked: it makes for very sobering reading;

If it is all true.
The central point is that volunteers are doing the cas-evacuation - presumably because the Russians will kill the doctors if they get their hands on them.... ( Viets started this in 1960s, which explains why there were no mashes in Vietnam. They shot them).

and if the first aiders werent there, the injured are in the hands of God. But they are there. ergo.

Sir Keith Porter revolutionised the care of the injured in Afghanistan ( from Birmingham). I understand he is spare. Nothng has changed in techniques since 1918. Sir K was SOOOOO successful they had to revise their expected mortality stats, DOWNWARDS.

I suspect the author cant see the wood for the trees. Taking an x ray is different to organising a radiology department
Question Author
P.P. If you mean by 'the author' - Svitlana; seeing the trees & not the wood is exactly what she is doing, & the whole point of the article. Perhaps too many of us are looking at the wood !

Also she is well placed to do it as she's in Donetsk (& you're in m/c).
yes I am saying that
to wit
a Ukrainian in an air raid shelter in Kyiv may not have an accurate view of the conduct of the campaign

and so someone ( pari passu - I only put that in to enrage one of the screaming mods) who is in or on an emergency squad may not have a good idea about organising a system

thank you and Спасибо to Svtlanda for clarifying
