Alex Salmond:

"No-one seriously believes that proposing a majority of seats as an independence mandate is at all credible.

Given that Westminster have been allowed over repeated elections to dismiss a majority of SNP seats as a mandate for a mere referendum, why on earth would they concede it as a mandate for negotiating independence itself?"

When Labour are short of a majority after the next General election, they will turn to the SNP and strike a 'confidence and supply' agreement as the Conservatives and DUP did in 2017. Of course the price for such an agreement will be a referendum, which will fail again :-)

IMHO, yes.  So let them vote the SNP in then we can get shot of all the whiners.

Let them have it and give our ears a rest.

Of course not :-)

Alex Salmond is right.

First sensible thing"Mr Sleepy Cuddles" has said for years.

"Them"

Ah, this United Kingdom, makes ye proud.

"So let them vote the SNP in then we can get shot of all the whiners."
"Let them have it and give our ears a rest."

Why does Westminster not think that way? You'd think they'd be falling over themselves to be rid of the whiners, scroungers and money grabbers!

Maybe Westminster isn't full of afternoon topers looking to noise up the cannon fodder, Jim.

Hi,Jim-"it is never difficult to distiguish between a Scotsman with a grievance and a ray of sunshine"-are you the Scotsman with a grievance,Jim?

If Scotland went independant they would collapse financially quite quckly, and guess who they would blame and expect to bale them out.

Exactly,Hopkirk. But try explaining that to the SNP numpties on here.Jesus wept.

^^^ can't fault that assessment gromit.

Wait a while yet before offering Humza's Heroes anything.

He ain't no Sturgeon or Salmond when it comes to holding the bewildered in thrall, support seems to be diminishing.

Labour will never agree to hold another referendum. That would be idiotic and leave them a huge hostage to fortune. If Labour does a deal with anyone it'll be the Lib Dems.
i don't think there will be another referendum in Scotland for  a generation at least
