I am sure that the dog was a Bullmastiff - usually a passive but massive breed.
All the stories in the media make it seem that dog attacks are a serious issue.
If we banned puppy farming, jail those who run them and those that sell on damaged puppies it would do more good that compulsory muzzles.
Dogs need to be socialised properly at an early age and trained.
My rescue dog was muzzled when out, he wasn't aggressive but he was overprotective and saw most men as possible attackers.
I don't know what the answer is.
Dogs and people develop into adults with a mixture of nature and nurture. There are dangerous dogs out there, but there are far more dangerous humans.
