On this occasion it was no laughing matter but I had a giggle at this irony. The Green party who run the council of Brighton and Hove decided to show their credentials by installing solar panels on their Town Hall. A little after the installation the solar panels ignited and damaged the Town Hall.

I'd have solar panels if I could but I am surrounded by too many very tall trees that the council planted some years ago

I was watching an emergency services series. They were called to a very serious fire in a block of flats. Someone had film of the solar panels smoking prior to full ignition of the roof and subsequent collapse of part of the wall. Solar panels? No thanks.

Roo, people have died from carbon monoxide poisoning due to faulty gas boilers; fires caused by open fires, candles, calor gas heaters, electric heaters....even the immersion heater

a judgement from above !

but surely a solar panel in a Town Hall exploding and killing all the councillors could he hailed ( pun intended) as a blessing in disguise !
