al-Ahli hospital in gaza contained thousands of injured from the recent bombardment of gaza... it is estimated that at least 500 people have been killed. 
 

How can this possibly be a justifiable form of self defence?

i don't that footage is accurate ichkeria because lights are on in the surrounding buildings and electricity is currently unavailable in gaza

Sorry, PP, it was a (fairly senior) Muslim who told me that if Muslims were killed in actions aimed against enemies, then it was more or less a  'too bad, sorry, but you are martyrs in the cause of Islam situation and Allah will bless you'. 

Perhaps you are thinking of purer, more intellectual, older forms of  Islam?  I'm repeating what I have heard (not all that long ago) from  Muslims in the UK.  I did live and work amongst them for many years and watched, with disquiet, the rising tide of Islamism. The late 1990s were the turning point.

It appears that the UN are supplying humanitarian aid to Palestine via the crossing point from Egypt. Only problem is the four fuel tankers and other provisions have been intercepted by Hamas ans surprise surprise it is not getting to those who need it the most. Why do the muslim brotherhood in the surrounding Arab countries not open their arms and give sanctuary to their brothers  oppressed  by Hamas. Israel gave warning of their intent of a ground infiltration to find the hostages and eradicate Hamas. They even extended their dead line for the innocent to flee Gaza. Why were they not welcome by the Arab countrys?

the egyptian border crossing is administered by israel... last i saw tbey were not letting any aid through but thst might have changed since yesterday morning 

surrounding muslim countries cannot accept gazan refugees because gazans are forbidden from leaving gaza by israel even as they drop thousands of bombs on them. egypt does also seem reluctant because they do not want to take on refugees. 
 

remember however that gazans are citizens of the palestinian authority who are the rightful rulers of the place usurped by hamas (with the aid of israel). they all in theory have the right to go to the west bank... israel will not permit this however because it wishes for israelis to colonise the west bank and push palestinians out.

Untitled it is the Egyptian side of the border that is closed and that is controlled by them and not Israel.  I have passed through this border crossing on a number of occasions and for some getting through the first checkpoint doesn't always mean you will get through the second one.  How do you know this is self defence as Israel have said it wasn't them that fired the rocket that caused it.  Wouldn't it make more sense to wait for proof as to who fired it instead of jumping to conclusions that may or may not be wrong.

the claim by the IDF that this was a misfire by another terrorist organisation called Palestinian Islamic Jihad (not hamas interestingly) had not yet been made when i posted this... obviously we will now have to wait for more information.

Maybe you shouldn't trust all you see look at this "Rafah is Gaza's only gateway to the rest of the world that's not directly controlled by Israel. It is under the control of Egypt as part of an agreement with Israel and the European Union. However, it has never been a normal, fully open border crossing."  There have always been checks on both parts of this crossing even when I used it in the early 80s.

Not at all, untitled.  You say that Israel although under attack shouldn't retaliate.  There's no sense in that and no nation in the world would react like that - but that's what you choose to believe.  Just nonsense.

Most international borders have two checkpoints. It would be bizarre if Israel controlled the crossing on the Egypt side
