iv pondered this a few times, what would the world be like without islam, to me.. islam is a very misogynistic belief system, you could say that about most abrahamic beliefs though, sad really,

There is a difference between what is done in the name of Islam and what others do in the name of their religion.  Unlike any other religion, Islam can and does, through its literature, justify its actions and the sooner the apologists wake up to that fact - and it is a fact - the better.   Whether ignorant or naive, they are doing the world no favours.   Islam cannot...

These idiots kept me awake all night with prayers from their mosque across the road from me. An all night prayer group with loud-speakers. Went on till about 5 in the morning.

Imagine the police responce if it had been a church service?

Not death to individuals who are almost, always, victimims themselves to religious indoctination, but certainly death to to religion.

Wether it's Islam, christianity or more exotic religions like Zoastrinism or Buddhism or pre christian religions like the Greek or Roman religions....

If Islam hadn't existed, well....I hardly know where to begin, but just to say the Twin Towers would still be standing, Lee Rigby wouldn't have been decapitated on the streets of Woolwich, and all the children would have come home from the Ariana Grande concert.

Really? That would suggest that it's an amorphous religion, rather than physical people, that's the problem.

People did all of those atrocities. People do atrocious things - always have. That's the nature of some humans. All that some of them need is an excuse ... any excuse.

So you think that these atrocities would have occurred without the teachings of Islam?  And the multiple terrorist attacks by muslims on the streets of Britain?  Really?

'If Islam hadn't existed, well....I hardly know where to begin, but just to say the Twin Towers would still be standing, Lee Rigby wouldn't have been decapitated on the streets of Woolwich, and all the children would have come home from the Ariana Grande concert."

Well said. Some people are dangerously naive.

i don't think islam was the sole cause of those atrocities

Some atrocities, yes. Not the exact same atrocities at the exact same time. But some of the same people ... yep. Because the people is the problem, just like:

* Most Muslims don't harm anybody

* Other religious people harm other people too

It's people that's the problem. And that's from someone who thinks all organised religion is a crock.

politics has a lot to do with it too. you can't separate the rise of islamic terror organisations from the political history of the past 50 years

^Completely gaga.

If it wasn't for this religion, these innocent people would not have become victim to Islamic terrorism.

"Other religious people harm other people too".  Ellipsis- name all the Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Sikh and Hindu terrorist attacks in Britain in the last 20 years.  Compare this with Islam, and see how the so-called religion of peace stacks up. Please- this will be interesting.

i don't think it's that simple spungle. al qaeda didn't appear out of nowhere it emerged from the mujahideen of the cold war era

Ah you had to say "in Britain" and "in the last 20 years" rather than just "name all the Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Sikh and Hindu terrorist attacks anywhere" - why's that?  Does it make your narrative fit better?  I think if you look further afield in geography or history, you'll find other examples, of all religions and none.

But if you want in Britain in the last 20 years, try this:

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/apr/28/catholics-top-victims-northern-ireland-republican-terror-groups-new-ira

If you want further afield, try just this lot in the Punjab from many, many examples:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_terrorist_incidents_in_Punjab,_India

There is a difference between what is done in the name of Islam and what others do in the name of their religion.  Unlike any other religion, Islam can and does, through its literature, justify its actions and the sooner the apologists wake up to that fact - and it is a fact - the better.   Whether ignorant or naive, they are doing the world no favours.   Islam cannot be compared to any other religion on the planet.
