it is beyond doubt that hamas committed horrifying atrocities against men women and children... genocide however is not and can never be an acceptable form of self-defence. what israel is doing goes well beyond "collateral damage" and "unfortunate consequences"... they are slaughtering people who had nothing to do with the oct 7th attacks.

Does it occur to Hamas that if they released all the hostages there is a faint chance that Israel may be slightly more inclined to  agree a pause to give some respite for their citizens , though I must admit I am suspicious they are all dead anyway and that Hamas dont give a flying fig for anyones suffering including their people

I am genuinely interested- if you were on the British side in WW2, would you have condemned our troops and our government for defeating the nazis?  Or would you have condemned Britain because of the number of innocent German civilians who were killed?

I've not been following the posts on here, but I believe there is misinformation coming from all sides in this conflict. My only hope is that it can be resolved without too much more innocent bloodshed, but I think that is something of a pipe dream.

Untitled, there is a war going on.  When Hamas embed themselves in civilian populations, and the civilians don't head to the Rafah crossing, there will be massive numbers of innocent people killed.  Hamas must be destroyed root and branch.  Perhaps a start would be if all the arab countries who say they are friends with Palestine could open their borders up for refugees. As a Zionist, I believe that Israel has every right to defend itself, but this will come at the loss of innocent life- such is the tragedy of war.
