And the problem with wearing a black poppy would be what exactly?
Sometines I really despair //
Yes & so do I (at you) There is only one true poppy; it is red symbolising the blood of those who gave their lives for the country.
If people want to give money to animals or BLM charities they are entitled to so do, but Remembrance Day and its poppy appeal, should not be hijacked by all and sundry for their own political ends.
Stand by for a rainbow poppy next!
I suspect it probably has something to do with his audience at the time and trying to show he fits in with them. Ill advised though, as the criticism shows. Rather naive IMO. The approval of those he gained is hardly worth the disapproval achieved by many more. Not something the figurehead leader of the whole nation should be aiming for.
Tilly, yes the Purple one + the red one would make more sense, all the people and all the animals. The black one is included in the red so by wearing both he's basically saying that the black fallen are twice the value of the others. Well I'm sure the King doesn't think that but he's been poorly advised by some trobiscite.
The Blck Poppy Rose
"The BlackPoppyRose was launched in September 2010 by Selena Carty.
Created to be a symbol that represents the contributions made by the African/Black/West Indian/Caribbean/Pacific Islands & Indigenous communities to various wars since the 16th century.
A symbol that signifies pride, honour and glory, with the hope that future generations will be inspired by these largely untold historical legacies."
The Royal Britsh Legion poppy,
"Wearing a poppy is a show of support for the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, veterans and their families. It represents all those who lost their lives on active service, from the beginning of the First World War right up to present day."
