//Reports Wednesday said that the woman who gave birth in Gaza was a foreign worker in one of the Israeli towns bordering the enclave until she was kidnapped on October 7.

Sara Netanyahu writing to Jill Biden said that among the hostages was a 10-month-old baby.//

“He was kidnapped even before he learned how to walk or talk,” she said.//

I can't even remotely imagine what that new mother must be suffering - or the mother of the baby captured.   Surely no one can condone this?

Naomi; the topic was that a hostage woman gave birth. Many Palestinian women in Gaza have given birth in the last week or so. I don't condone either events. Do you condone some more than others?

Question Author

Atheist, Taking pregnant women and young babies hostage isn't war.

Naomi; what's war got to do with it? Do you think that war justifies certain actions? I think you've lost the thread.

Calm down, the hostages were taken to hospital.

Atheist, I've told you, this isn't about me. Experience has taught me that you frequently resort to attacking on a personal level.  It won't work here.

To answer your question, until  those hostages were taken and over a thousand people were slaughtered in cold blood, peace reigned.

Naomi, peace reigned? Missiles regularly fired fro Gaza, settlers pushing Palestinians out of the West Bank etc etc.

NAOMI, "until those hostages were taken and over a thousand people were slaughtered in cold blood, peace reigned."

The fact there were not attacks of the current magnitude immediately prior to October 7th does not amount to, "peace".

Naomi. 'Peace reigned' is not quite accurate.

The Jews were given Israel by the British and the west as a short-sighted attempt to sort things out after the second world war. The Jews felt that Jehovah had made a deal with them thousands of years ago to make them his chosen people, and in fact commanded them to wipe out many middle-eastern tribes in OT times. The Jews were described as a people without a land, and Israel as a land without a people. All that was wrong.

The whole thing was a botch, and turned out badly.

Surely no one can condone this?

There does appear to be some that can't condemn it.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, there were 6,542 Palestinian fatalities and 270 Israeli fatalities in the period from January 24th 2008 to October 6th 2023.

Doesn't sound like a peaceful period to me.

Before 7 October, both Israelis and Palestinians were living their day to day lives and going about their business.  Make it into whatever you might, that was what was happening.  Hamas changed that.

a hostage woman gave birth. Many Palestinian women in Gaza have given birth  - I had noticed that. - something  about neonatal units and lyttel babies lacking oxygen and just about everything else

Hey I like the interview and IDF trooper gave: he was in the hospital and a kid of 15 pointed an AK at him and had a grenade in the other hands. So it was clear the terrorist must be neutralised. Two shots got him - made a helluva mess of the incubator

what - a 15 y old was in an incubator? or was he behind? [ crouching, like the cowardly cur he was etc}

In, 15 wks not 15 yrs.  "and I can tell you I thought I was gonna DDDIIIIIEEEEE"

This post was satirical

Peace i n the concentration camp known as Gaza

yeah OK if you say so - I have never been there

Question Author

I have.

oh good that  means you can speak out with authority on those poor dead and dying children ( all 4000 of  them) in Gaza = they cant ALL be terrorists ( or terrorists in the making) -  can they?

Many Palestinian women in Gaza have given birth in the last week or so

the 28 who were evacuated to Egypt looked pretty terrible. TBH - but that is terrorism for you !

Question Author

Peter Pedant, I know that if I told you not to be so stupid I'd be wasting my time but it would be good if you'd make the effort to stop being so utterly tasteless in your ramblings.  You're wittering on about dead babies/children all over the site - and it's not clever.  It's crass.

I do hope all the premature babies convoyed from Gaza to Egypt survive the journey.

Hi Sandy, I can inform anyone who wishes to listen that the most detrimental act for premature babies is to 1. Be handled physically. 2. Deprive of 02 even for short period. 3. Remove from their environment eg incubator ... 4. Be a again short times be disconnected from the respiratory support they require.

Transport of premature/ ill babies is/ can be very detrimental to continual health .

On the news last night it showed them all safely arrived in Egypt.  Let's hope they all survive and thrive.
