Joe Biden (and the USA) does not care whether the UK sends people to Rwanda or not.

 

What is at stake is that should we withdraw from the ECHR (even part of it); this will have implications for The Good Friday Agreement (which is underpinned by the ECHR).  Joe Biden cares about the American Irish vote to keep him in power – for this reason, the USA will not allow the UK to withdraw from the ECHR.

A number of people on AB think that the UK is some sort of superpower who can do as we want.  As I’ve explained, having left the EU we now have to accept their rules (which as EU members, we had a say in).

 

Britain once was a superpower, but no more – and our influence on the world stage has been further diminished by Brexit; other than turn ourselves into North Korea we have to negotiate our relations with international partners.

 

Those who think that the USA would let us jeopardise The Good Friday Agreement are deluded.

As you keep erroneously claiming, having left the EU we now have to accept their rules (which as EU members, we had a say in): but the reality, as has been pointed out many times, is that any group has to make agreements with others if they wish to benefit. Being in or out of a federal block run by unelected elite doesn't change that. And EU member countries end up having next to no say as to how the EU behaves as none of them have a veto, and so simply get dictated to. No woder there is so much talk of rebellion and even leaving by members of late.

 

All nations have some level of influence in the world. Britain had next to no influence on the EU when a member, so exiting can only have increased it's level of influence. Every nation has to negotiate their relationship with international partners, so no change there, but at least we now have a potential voice once more.

 

The USA has no say on the Good Friday agreement. This is made clear by the fact that they fail to prevent the EU jeopardising the Good Friday Agreement, apparently making no effort to stop them, because they can't. Yet their president tries to push their nose in where it isn't wanted in order to complain when the UK tries to get things changed to secure it's continuance.  Indeed their president seems determined to wreck the agreement by his words, so he must be going down well with the supporters of terrorism in the US.

 

Meanwhile you still haven't explained how you think we have to take commands from Biden. I suspect wishful thinking on your part.  If you can't be ordered around by the EU commission any more then getting told what to do by the US government must be a good fantasy substitute.
