Am I Right To Be Feeling This Way?

..........is just a ploy by Israel in order to secure the release of their hostages. Once that's sorted, they'll be back into Gaza and probably blow up the Palestinian hostages that were released anyway. They aint gonna stop folks. Not this time.

For sure there is the option of continuing to try to destroy Hamas (regardless of civilian casualties) and one can understand why given the long period of violence from them so far, but it's not inevitable.
On the ither hand Hamas may have regrouped in order to try another atrocity if they still have sufficient resources. Again given that is their reason to be, it could also be anticipated.
it's sad thst no one has a magic wand that would enable this to be resolved peacefully and permanently, but humans are flawed and rarely manage to achieve such a thing.
Hamas is getting its own prisoners released too: it's called a brokered, agreed cessation of hostilities and we should all be grateful for that: just shows how pointless the calls for a ceasefire by our politicians were: this was always only going to happen or not happen depending on what people of influence wanted: the taking of the hostages by Hamas was wicked beyond belief. Their merchants of death and oppression are still at large in other parts of Gaza and they will be dealt with in due course. The civilian death toll is horrendous and I don't say Israel is blameless, far from it, but Hamas is the prime instigator. They will surrender or face destruction - for the good of everyone.
What happens then of course is the big question.
Strange how every other nation on the planet is allowed to do whatever it needs to ensure its safety if attacked but Israel isnt...hopefully once the ceasefire (aka allow hamas to breathe and regroup) Israel will carry on and destroy them....kill two birds with one stone, safeguard Israel and allow the Palestinian people to live freely insterad of under the hamas cosh...

strange indeed it it were true
Russia is doing the same ( Putin tells us) in the part of Russia that was er Ukraine ( but not the whole of it).
and yes everyone agrees that some of the Palestinians released are women-terrorists and child terrorists the sort that throw stones and havent yet had their cases heard.
and yes everyone agrees that the stone throwers may be subject to arbitrary re-arrest
Israel doesn't "need" to kill or drive out all Gazans from Gaza and it doesn't need to be shooting children to death in the west bank. it didn't need to pour money into hamas and it didn't need to fire on peaceful demonstrations against israeli rule. it did not strictly speaking need to occupy the palestinian territories at all - it could have stayed behind its 1948 borders and existed much like it does now.
hamas are an evil terrorist organisation whose goal is genocide... people fail however to ask the right questions about why it is there in the first place. the situation does not boil down to "israel good hamas bad"... the government of israel has made lots of choices that have brought the current situation about and they could still choose to stop.
Thanks for the replies folks. I am neither anti-semite, nor a former member of the Hitler Youth, a gross, unnecessary insult, for which you should apologise.
I'm only saying what I see. I believe the IDF won't stop until Gaza has been razed to the ground, and all the hostages that have been released by Israel will end up either dead or recaptured.
Peace won't happen in Gaza unless all of the people want it. They've got to want it, and if they don't, then all the initiatives and brokering will be a complete waste of time.
ynnafymmi, I await your apology.
