Conservative  MP Scott Benton faces suspension from Parliament for thirty five days, over a "very serious breach"of standard rules. A standards commitee report said the MP had given the message "He was corrupt and  for sale".

.....To me that is the norm for a Con MP.....

A report by the Commons Standards Committee said Mr Benton had given the message "he was corrupt and 'for sale' and that so were many other Members of the House".

He's my MP and generally well-thought of despite

Don't be quite so quick to rub your hands at the thought of the Conservatives getting another drubbing in a by-election.

12.43 Maybe getting a little old and sloppy, couldn't make out on your link if it was a temp suspension, until the investigation was complete???

Great teeth.

Yes, dentures.  :o)

One of the best MP's there is round these parts- despite making a stupid mistake, he's 100 times better than the old Labour MP in Blackpool- this one has actually stood up for the town and got stuff done.

It never fails to amuse me when Tory apologists try to find equivalent bad behaviour on the Labour side, as if that makes it OK. Two wrongs do not make a Right (pun intended).

obviously  it all goes straight over your head if you cant understand why....whooosh

He may now be an independent, how long did he represent the Tory's ?

14.43. He got stuff done. And he tried hard to get stuff done for himself buy the looks of it. Fill his wallet by all accounts.

The usual suspects are out in force, supporting a corrupt Tory MP - a report by the Commons Standards Committee said Mr Benton had given the message "he was corrupt and 'for sale' and that so were many other Members of the House".

Strangely the Standards Committee did not investigate his claim that ‘so were many other Members of the House (corrupt)’ for some reason.

Hymie 18.07 Have you got any good videos from your mate Phil on this subject .I am sure they would be very welcome on this thread

You could look Phil's youtube channel/clips up gulliver and add a link- there's no need to wait for Hymie

As Graham Hughes explains in this video (with plenty of examples), Scott Benton’s behaviour is pretty standard practice amongst Tory MPs – so perhaps he quite rightly feels hard done by at being kicked off the gravy train.
