Recommendation from the computers - don't run the trains, ditch them - keep them off the rails.

that's one way of describing the current network and its performance levels

Essentially the algorithm was not given all the desirable paramters so based on what it has it gave the correct answer that running no trains is the safest.  AI is the wrong name, there is no I artififical or otherwise. It should be (P)suedo I.

Now imagine explaining that when Russia nukes Ukraine or Estonia - 'AI told us that this would be the most efficient way of ending the Israeli-Hamas conflict'.

Once again there is no AI it's just a load of programming and data and GIGO is always possible.

My bag is full and goes out for collection tomorrow. I wonder when the Rail Network chucks theirs....

Moral of story? Never let Oxford Uni students anywhere near a computer programme.    ...   Or any other University grad for that matter.
