Despite all the noises the current (or any other) government might make about withdrawing from that Convention, or even being free to ignorre its rulings, the chances of that happening is zero, or slightly less, OG.

They believe it burnishes their credentials to demonstrate to the world what a libertarian regime exists in the UK. In fact all it demonstrates is that this country is getting turned over, still bound by an outdated treaty which was appropriate and well-meaning enough when it was devised, but which is totally unfit for purpose in the 21st Century.
